Item Details

An exquisite example of a mid century wooden games box. The exterior sides to the games case are perfectly veneered with burr walnut nicely seasoned to a rich nutty brown. The draughts board forms the box surface to both sides which when opened creates a complete inlaid board. The box interior reveals a baize backgammon board complete with two leather dice cups , fifteen black discs and fifteen white.
A high end quality box whether for games or purely as a visual decorative furnishing. France circa 1950.
