Item Details

A 19th century French Ash commode. This beautiful commode consists of five Ash lined drawers all housed within a solid Ash carcass raised on gently curved bracket feet. A long narrow top drawer above three deeper drawers, a fifth drawer housed within the plinth base, all drawers with a circular wooden escutcheon and key for opening. The drawer fronts boasts the prettiest Ash veneers crammed with swirling grains and burrs now seasoned to a mellow warm golden honey colour with rich historical patina. The drawers fit perfectly within the carcass and open with ease. Above sits the original pristine charcoal grey marble top flecked with contrasting white veining. Burr Ash commode circa 1870.
