Item Details

A solid cherrywood commode standing on four low square tapering legs. The carcass holds three substantial deep drawers which have all retained their original decorative polished brass handles together with the brass shield escutcheons. The drawers fit well within the solid carcass and run with ease. The flat wide top is complimented by deep panelled sides, all beautifully seasoned with a richly polished surface gathered over the past two centuries. Original heavy duty back boards. French cherrywood commode chest circa 1820.
