Item Details

A 19th century French fruitwood server. Three long solid cherrywood timbers span the top of this smart serving table above a run of three deep drawers, each with a heavy duty brass drop handle. The drawers all fit well and run with ease. It stands on four square tapering legs. The tips of the legs had badly worn from years of standing and use which have now been replaced with new timber to create the correct height. The back has the advantage of neat panelling as a mirror image to the drawer fronts making it pleasing to view from all angles. This beautiful piece started life just a little deeper in scale but has recently been narrowed by a minimal amount making it easier to place within the home. Its plain and simple lines make it perfect to blend with either contemporary or traditional styles. French server / preparation table. Woodworm treated purely as a precautionary measure. French circa 1860.
