Item Details

A 19th century French walnut commode. The drawers to this elegant commode boast the prettiest burr walnut veneers book matched to create a cloud like design repeated on all five drawers. A narrow top drawer sits above three deeper with the hidden fifth drawer housed within the plinth base each one fitting neatly within the walnut carcass. The top four drawers are embellished with decorative brass escutcheons supplied with a key purely for opening. The whole piece being raised upon low concave Walnut feet. Cleaned, polished, wood worm treated purely as a precautionary measure. Original flecked grey marble top commode. France circa 1880.
