Item Details

A 19th century French gilded wall mirror of mid scale proportions. The gilded frame to this pretty mirror is decorated with the iconic design of entwining leaves and flowers etched in to the surface. The gold leaf has gently faded and worn evenly over the past near two centuries revealing the rich terracotta coloured basecoat creating an harmonious contrast of warm colours. The original mirror plate is in remarkably good condition with only tiny age related speckles. Original pine backboards. Louis Philippe wall mirror circa 1840.
