A late 19th century mahogany writing desk with side extensions. This handsome desk boasts five useful drawers, each drawer with its original decorative reeded handles together with a single key to operate the drawer locks. The deep green leather top is set within a polished mahogany surround with a desktop extension to either side creating almost double the working space when fully extended. The mahogany desk top surround has a neat satinwood border, the same inlaid border being repeated on the drawer fronts, the sides and also the back of the desk so it may be admired from all angles. Raised on elegant square tapering legs. A super quality French mahogany writing desk with wide side extensions. Knee height 62 cm. Extensions adding 30 cm either end.
