A monumental late 19th century weather vane. The huge scale of this impressive weather vane is such that it may easily be viewed from on high. It depicts a graceful silhouette of a large black horse and farrier upon a cross bar with oversized directional arrow head all being supported above the post and spindle rod. The arrow head and horseshoes highlighted in original pale country green. Incredibly heavy gauge and quality. Superb original condition with minor rust spotting consistent with history and the elements! English country house weather vane circa 1890. Would be equally desirable as an interior decorative furnishing.
