A late 18th early 19th century English oak dresser base seasoned to the most delicious treacle brown colour with deep patina. These practical Country House bases often had a rack above, but these days stand more pleasingly alone as a simple base or serving table. They can be placed anywhere in the home whether a drawing room, dining room, hall or landing with a certain quintessential country charm that will blend perfectly with antique or contemporary. The original brassware to this handsome base has gathered a few dints and losses over the past two centuries but this simply adds to its history, charm and uniqueness. The three deep drawers fit well within the base and run with ease. Raised on four plain simple legs. English oak dresser base circa 1780-1800.
