Item Details

A 19th century French four drawer commode. The original marble top to this pretty commode is the traditional dark grey flecked with a smattering of ancient fossils. It sits above a substantial French walnut commode chest of four drawers. The four drawers are neatly housed within a sturdy, substantial carcass with a solid wooden panelled back, raised on low stepped feet. The drawer fronts have the most dramatic grain within the walnut veneers which appear to explode from the centre of the chest across the entire front surface creating the most exotic pattern. The drawers all fit well, run with ease and are presented with a steel key for opening. French walnut commode circa 1880.
