Max Leuchars attended Bryanston School, where his art classes introduced him to various artists and methods that inspire his work today. Max is based in Winchester and travels widely and enjoys creating large scale paintings of the locations he visits - recreating the feeling of vitality in a place by applying thick layers of oil paint with a palette knife, and then scratching lines and marks into the surface in the sgraffito style to imply movement, as well as scraping back layers of paint and reworking his surfaces to give a two-dimensional feel to the image.


Max exhibits at both Cricket Fine art (London and Hungerford) and Whitewater Contemporary (Cornwall) as well as Dacre Art online gallery.


Max's artworks have recently been shown at London's Decorative Fair, Olympia Art, LAPADA, the Bruton Art Fair.
