1960’s Danish teak sideboard by Randers Mobelfabrik attributed to Kurt Ostervig


We’ve had one of these stylish sideboards once before. Randers Mobelfabrik were a small top quality Danish maker in the 1960’s and this design is usually attributed to Kurt Ostervig, but they did use other designers at the time. We did have a lovely blanket box which also has planked finish which is known to be by another designer. As you’ll see it has a branded makers mark. Like the blanket chest this is a great example of Mid-Century Danish design with simple clean lines and beautiful detailing.


Condition
It’s been cleaned and oiled and is looking really good. As with all vintage furniture you do have to expect some small signs of wear if you look very closely. In bright light it’s slightly darker to the centre of the top.
