1960’s Greaves and Thomas console or hall table.


These lovely tables don’t come up very often and it isn’t illustrated in the 1966 Catalogue we have, but it’s from the same range as some lamp tables and coffee tables that are in the catalogue.


We have a pair of the lamp tables currently for sale. The catalogue says they were available in teak or mahogany, but if it’s mahogany it will be sapele mahogany which was popular at the time. Sapele has a very stripy grain which you can see in this one.


Console/hall tables were an expensive extra that few people bought in the 1960’s and only a few makers produced.


Condition
Stripped, cleaned and oiled. There are no obvious marks or scratches. As with all vintage furniture you do have to expect some small signs of wear if you look very closely.
