1980’s black metal Oti chair by Niels Gammelgaard for IKEA


IKEA over the years have used some very famous designers particularly in the 60’s, 70s and early 80’s. This stylish well made chair dates to the early 80’s, it would of been before they started to worry so much about stacking and loading pieces so that they took little room when transported in bulk.


Condition
There is some rusting to the metal as it’s probably been used in a garden at some point but it’s still strong with no breakages. It could be sandblasted and powder coated but then would look too new! Our upholsterer has made a couple of cushions to make it more comfortable and you could add others easily.
