Danish 2 seat Capella teak sofa by Illum Wikkelso for Eilersen.
A lovely design with nice quality simple detailing designed and made in Denmark in the Mid 20th century.
The Capella range of furniture was designed circa 1960 and made by Eilersen in the 1960’s in teak, light oak or rosewood. It’s designed to come to pieces for easy transport and with the right components you can create armchairs, 2, 3 and even 4 seat sofas. We have some other options available too.
It's 128cms wide, about 74cms in depth and 42cms seat height
Condition
The teak frame has been completely cleaned and oiled. Our in-house upholsterer has re-webbed the seats and made new foam cushions to current UK Fire regulations and then covered them in a Camira Craggan fabric of a teal colour. There are 2 shades of colour in the weave which when photographed sometimes gives a swirling look which isn’t visible in real life ! We can send a small sample on request.
As with all vintage pieces you must expect to see very minor signs of wear if you look very closely but there is nothing really obvious.
