Dansk Design staved teak fruit bowl by Jens Quistgaard
A lovely simple design in solid staved teak designed by Jens Harald Quistgaard for Dansk Design in the 1960’s. All Dansk pieces were made by Nissen of Denmark until Dansk took production to the Far East in the late 1960’s. Nissen then started to make their own pieces including the wine rack which we’ve also just listed for sale.
Dansk Design combined American marketing with beautifully made products designed by the inventive talented Quistgaard. Initially all their wood pieces were made by Nissen of Lange who had the know how to produce the elegant designs successfully until the American run business decided to save costs by outsourcing in the late 1960’s. The quality of Dansk’s later pieces suffered, so those made in the Far East are never as nice as earlier pieces like this one.
