G Plan Danish Design low chest / sideboard by Ib Kofod Larsen


This lovely model rarely come up for sale , but amazingly we managed to source 2 of them within a few days of each other , not having seen any for 2 or 3 years . The first one sold very quickly and is now on it’s way to it’s new home in the US . Designed as a small dressing table , it works really well without it’s mirror as a small sideboard or low chest .


The Danish Design series designed by the famous Danish designer Ib Kofod Larsen in 1962 with a few additions over the next 2 or 3 years was only made for about 4 years . It was much more expensive than G Plan’s normal ranges , but it was cheaper than Danish made pieces . The quality is excellent , the designs elegant and practical . G Plan marketed it as being good design that would last a lifetime and 60 years on it still looks contemporary and is ready to be used for many decades to come .


Condition
It’s been cleaned and oiled and there are no obvious marks or scratches or other damage . The colour of the teak is really nice . As with all vintage furniture you must expect to see some minor signs of wear if you look very closely .
