Gunni Omann teak sideboard for Axel Christensen


Superb quality and terrifically heavy! This beautiful sought after model was designed by Gunni Omann for Axel Christensen of Odder in Denmark. By 1961 Gunni Omann was designing for his own company Omann Jnr, so we’d guess this design would be from the late 1950s and produced in the early to mid 1960s.


Lovely detailing throughout this large sideboard. 240cms is the largest standard size you’ll find on a Danish sideboard.


It’s unusual to have a teak veneered back on a Danish sideboard even for a good quality one like this. The legs can unscrew.


Condition
Cleaned and oiled with no obvious marks or scratches. As with all vintage pieces you must expect to see some minor signs of wear if you look very closely.
