Hans Hamngren signed lithograph Altarpiece dated 1965


Hans Hamngren ( 1934-2017 ) studied at the Konstfack ( Art College ) in Stockholm from 1952-56 then at the Swedish Royal Academy of Fine Arts from 1962-67. His teacher/professor at both was Erland Melanton and we also have a lithograph by him that we bought at the same time in Sweden. Hans Hamngren was a successful Swedish Artist with a number of solo exhibitions in Sweden and abroad.


We also have a later signed limited edition lithograph from 1967 in the same colours. This one is signed and titled in pencil, but isn’t numbered. It’s titled in Swedish and translates as Altarpiece. We’re not sure what PT next to the title means.


We liked the colouring, the symbolism as well as the technique.
