The Sakura range was designed by Michael Bang for Holmegaard in 1982. Sakura apparently translates as Cherry Blossom and this series in white opal glass came with decoration in this blue or a brownish colour. Each piece is totally unique even though mould blown as the decoration is totally random in form. The range consisted of vases and table lamps. This shape seems to be quite rare as very few of those shown online have any neck like this stylish model. Like most of this range it isn’t labelled, but it’s definitely Holmegaard and came to us from Denmark.
Probably produced for Le Klint as this model is sometimes found with a Le Klint sticker and there is a residue of glue of the right shape underneath.
It’s been re-wired to current UK standards and PAT tested , but the original plastic lamp holder has been retained. It’s on a good black fabric twist flex of good length ( approx 120cms )
It came without a shade, but we thought this one we bought new looks good with it, so is available for an extra cost.
30 cms to chrome metal ring, 54cms with shade
Condition
No chips , cracks or obvious damage .
