Johannes Andersen 1960’s teak bar and pair of stools.
A lovely stylish bar with original matching stools which were bought together new in the early 1960’s. We bought the set along with a Danish dining suite from the family of the original owners. The bar is apparently by J Skaaning and Son a small quality maker who seemed to specialise in bars and highboards all designed by Johannes Andersen. The stools are by another larger better known maker Brdr Andersen who also made a number of items by the same designer.
Johannes Andersen was a very successful prolific designer who produced a good number of well known designs for quite a few other Danish makers including CF Christensen and Charles Linneberg. He has to be in the top 10 Danish mid-century designers in the 1950’s and 60’s. Bar by J Skaaning + Son, and stools by Brdr Andersen.
The photographs are better than any description. Needless to say they would have been very expensive when new and made in fairly small numbers and complete sets rarely come up for sale.

Condition
In great vintage condition when we bought them, all they needed was a light clean and oil . The seats are upholstered in their original faux leather , but can easily be redone if required.
