Kurt Ostervig high back teak armchair by Rolschau Mobler Model 58


These lovely chairs don’t come up for sale very often as they weren’t sold in large numbers at the time. We have had a sofa and low back versions before and it’s a model we do try to buy when the opportunity arises. This one has teak arms and legs and is in it’s original Savak wool upholstery.


Kurt Ostervig is one of the best known Mid-Century Danish furniture designers and designed many iconic and sought after pieces. This design for the small company of Rolschau Mobler dates to 1958 and is known as Model 58.


Condition
The wool is very clean, but the seat pad needs a new interior and the back is starting to deteriorate after over 60 years so it does need re-upholstering. Our price includes re-upholstery but not the price of the fabric. Our upholsterer can advise on fabrics and can arrange for samples to be sent from Abraham Moon, Camira, Bute and Romo or you can send us your own fabric.
