Large Danish oil painting by Fritz Jacobsen 1914-79


Titled ” Fiskerhavn Samso ” ( Fishing harbour Samso an island off Aarhus ) on rear stretcher. A typical bright breezy scene for this Danish artist, but larger than most you’ll see. Difficult to date but probably 1950’s or early 1960’s.


AskArt say “Most of his output focused on boat yards and seaports. His manner is direct and impressionist.”  This sums up this impressive large work.


Condition
In good vintage condition with no tears or obvious damage to frame or canvas, just minor paint losses if you look very closely.
