Large oil painting by Jianyue Wang 1997


Born in China, he moved to Sweden in 1988 to teach as well as continuing to make new works. His online biography says “In the mid-1990 Wang create a new kind of painting – the third generation of painting (also called the global syntes painting), Created out two work from the third generationspainting, respectively, it was selected to participate in the Swedish Liljevachs Vårsalongen art exhibition in 1996 and 1997, They was very successfull.”.


This oil painting is from 1997 so presumably was bought at the 2nd Liljevachs exhibition and is definitely similar to works shown then.


The title translated from Swedish to English is “Various Souls”


Unframed, colourful statement work of a good scale.
