Lovely Danish teak magazine rack table by Salin


We couldn’t find another of these small tables with a drawer and a magazine section . It’s marked for the small Danish maker Salin . It will date to the late 1960’s or early 1970’s . It’s beautifully made in solid teak , with it’s original suede leather magazine holder .


Most magazine racks are just that , so it’s unusual to see a combination like this with a top surface as well as a fitted drawer . It would have been expensive when new . We bought it along with other good Danish furniture from the family of the original owners who will have bought it when new .


The only other Salin magazine rack we could find online was bizarrely described as by being designed by Aksel Kjersgaard . Aksel Kjersgaard was and still are a well known Danish furniture maker and not a designer .


Condition
Given a light clean and oil as it was in good condition when we bought it . The leather with suede reverse is also in great vintage condition . As with all vintage furniture you do have to expect to see some minor signs of wear if you look very closely .
