Mari Simmulson figurine lady with bananas Upsala -Ekeby 1958


Mari Simmulson was a successful prolific ceramic designer for Upsala-Ekeby. She designed a number of figures the most famous being lady seated on a turtle. This lovely stylised figure was only made between 1958 and 1959 according to the factory records where it is described as “figur, sittande kvinna” which translates as figure, lady seated.


Impressed 4306 which is the model number UE Sweden with a Mari S mark.


24cms high 21.5cms deep, 12cms at widest
