Oil painting by Benny Aage Møller 1981
Benny Aage Møller ( 1918-2015 ) is a known Danish artist. The limed oak frame is part of the artwork and possibly made by the artist as you’ll find a number of paintings online with virtually identical frames.
It’s signed, dated and titled on reverse. It’s signed with his monogram to the front which seems to be usual. It still has it’s original handwritten gallery label stapled to the frame with a price of 2800 ( presumably Danish Krone ), which today is over £300 and taking historic inflation into account is over £1500.
Titled ” Det optimistiske sammenbrud ” which google translates as ” The optimistic collapse ” !
