Ron Hitchens 1960’s terracotta tile panel


Ron Hitchens ( 1926-2019 ) produced numerous panels from small to monumental using terracotta , metal and other materials. Apparently no two terracotta tiles were ever the same so each is an unique miniature work of art in it’s own right. There is an excellent biography on www.ronhitchens.com as well as a shorter one by Antiques Roadshow expert Mark Hill which can also be found online.


Here we have a lovely panel from the 1960’s in it’s original teak frame with dark green painted textured mount which is typical of the framing of a number of his works you’ll find. It’s fully signed on the back.


With frame 57cms x 29cms. Tiles 28cms x 14cms
