Scarce G Plan Danish range small sideboard by Ib Kofod Larsen


This was designed as a dressing chest, but without it’s mirror they make a great short sideboard. You’ll see plenty of the standard kneehole dressing tables from this range and also the dining room sideboards for sale, but this model is really hard to find. We haven’t had one for sale for about 8 years, but amazingly managed to source 2 in 1 week ! We bought this one from the family of the original owner along with other pieces from the range, all of which had been bought new in 1963.


The design and range was launched in 1962 and was made for about 4 years. Although it was successful it was expensive to make and was priced accordingly.


The smallest of the 3 dining room sideboards is 15cms longer and also higher than this design which makes a great TV stand.


Condition
It had a few marks to it when we bought it, but it didn’t take much work to clean it and oil it. It’s now looking really good with no obvious marks or scratches. As with all vintage furniture you must expect to see some minor signs of wear if you look very closely.
