Set of 3 1960’s signed linocuts by Jurgen Dost


We fell in love with these lovely images, simple but clever by the now little known German artist Jurgen Dost ( 1939-2020). Each one is signed and dated in pencil. We also have an oil painting by the same artist which we’re also listing.


He was well known in the 1960’s in Scandinavia and has works in the Moderna Museet in Stockholm. Today he is best known for his ex libris bookplate designs which is a very niche field but in 1966 a Swiss author published a small book of his designs. We have 2 of these books, one of which is included in the price of this group.


All the pieces in Stockholm date to the 1960’s and early 1970’s as do these linocuts , but after that he seems to have disappeared from view, although his death has been noted in 2020.
