Smart brass candleholder circa 1960 possibly French

Wonderful quality and simple stylish design by an unknown maker. We’ve not found another anywhere, but it was bought in The Netherlands about 10 years ago and has a French look to it  The kind of piece that would have been for sale in an expensive shop in Paris. It’s taken us a long time to decide to sell it as we liked it too much !

The big question is how to describe the lovely orange red sconces ! Are they made of red glass or a red lucite ? The rim and base are perfectly finished.
