Smart Victorian butchers shop counter scales with copper tray by Day and Millward
Not something you’d find in the average Victorian butchers shop as they’re particularly stylish and grand. The copper tray plate is unusual and would make a great stand for bottles. One of those quirky pieces we couldn’t resist adding to our stock when we saw it !
Day and Millward of Birmingham won awards at various major exhibitions and were clearly proud of this as it’s incorporated into the design.
Condition
It’s extremely heavy and is in lovely condition as you can see. It’s cast iron with brass detailing and has been re-painted at some point but not garishly.
