Stylish early 1950’s solid mahogany coffee table of lotus leaf shape


A really unusual design by an unknown British top quality maker. The use of solid mahogany is a sign of a really good piece as all but the best 20th century pieces were made using veneers. It’s difficult to date as it could be from the 1930’s but we’ve gone for the early 1950’s. Just that little bit different to the usual in style and a good step up in quality.

Condition
It’s been cleaned and polished and has come up beautifully as the mahogany has a lovely grain and rich colour. There is a slight stress crack to the edge as shown in one of the photos, but this has been properly glued and is hardly noticeable.
