ANTIQUE VICTORIAN TRUNK STORAGE BOX


A highly decorative chest with a flat top and plinth base.


Made of pine in its original paint with a hand-painted faux grain scumbled finish and decorative sponged accents.


Original brass and iron hardware throughout.


Original striped blue lining paper under a later but still antique pretty floral lining paper.


It probably dates from the mid-19th century, early Victorian period, and circa the 1840s.


The trunk is in good vintage order and is still very usable. There is cosmetic wear throughout, which we think adds to its charm and tells its story. There is some old worm present, which we have treated for good measure.
