ANTIQUE FRENCH MIRROR


A simple water gilt arched frame with beautiful foliate details.


Original mercury mirror plate with highly decorative natural foxing throughout.


Probably dating from the mid-19th century period.


The frame is largely in good vintage condition; it is distressed in places, which we think adds a romantic charm to the piece. The original mirror plate is foxed; again, we think this adds to its aesthetic. The overall look is the reason we fell for the piece in the first place. There are some old, dead wormholes visible from the reverse; we have treated the mirror for good measure.
