VINTAGE ORIGINAL OIL ON CANVAS PAINTING BY PETER GÖRANSSON


A stylish depiction of the side of a building capturing the light and shade of the scene to great effect.


Painted in a style sitting somewhere between realism and abstraction. On the surface it is a simple painting but delve a little closer and the artist has created this work with great care and an attention to detail, expertly using colour and texture to create an impressively elegant and chic artwork.


Signed to the lower right ‘GÖRANSSON’.


Born in 1950 Göransson lives and works in Sweden. Primarily self taught he has exhibited widely in Scandinavia:


“During the 1970s, I worked in a style akin to New Realism, before evolving toward an abstract visual language in the 1980s. I have now returned to realism, seeking my subjects in nature. I am fascinated by trees, stones, and walls where sunlit foliage and branches sometimes create intriguing patterns of shadow. Thematically, my work often centers on contrasts: light and darkness, sun and shadow, living growth and inert matter. This interplay of forces is constant and omnipresent, and I strive to capture it with my brush and paints.”


Titled ‘Exteriör nr 30’ verso and also further signed ‘PETER GÖRANSSON’.


This work probably dates from the mid to late 20th Century. Circa 1970s.


Framed in its original and simple white painted wooden frame.


The painting is in great vintage condition with no serious issues and only minor wear commensurate with age.
