VINTAGE ORIGINAL WATERCOLOUR ON PAPER PAINTING DEPICTING A FEMALE SITTER, MID 20TH CENTURY


‘BURMESE WOMAN, CHEROOT SMOKER, MANDALAY’ BY YATANABON MAUNG SU, BURMESE (1903-1965).


A typically characterful portrait by the artist, well known for capturing the essence of Burmese people in their everyday lives, smoking was a running theme throughout his work.


Signed to the lower right in ink and inscribed in pencil with the title.


Framed and glazed in a period metal frame with geometric details.


The painting itself is in very good vintage condition with only minor wear commensurate with age. The frame is also in good vintage order.
