A lumbar pillow cover in Japanese ceremonial silk, cut from a Nishijin fukuro obi (袋帯): a Taishō-era (大正) modernist abstract — the loom's own avant-garde language — across an indigo-black ground. Envelope-pocket back, no metal against the silk; 50 × 31 cm (also 36 × 31 cm). For modern, graphic rooms. Spot clean only. Unrepeatable, finished at the Renaras atelier, Amsterdam.


Modernist avant-garde. The chapter in Japanese textile design that absorbed European modernism and reinterpreted it through silk — the loom's own abstract language.


Against an indigo-black silk ground, abstract modernist forms move with the deliberate disruption of Japanese modernist graphic design. The composition borrows from the chapter when Japanese weaving traditions absorbed modernist influence and answered with their own avant-garde — refined, structured, never decorative for its own sake. The indigo gives the composition its night. The form gives it its discipline.


A pillow for monochrome sofas, modernist apartments, dark walnut studies — quiet beauty for ordinary moments, gathered around a shared table.


The face is the original silk, backed in undyed linen. Envelope pocket closure. No metal touches the visible silk.

Dispatched from the Renaras atelier in Amsterdam within two working days, wrapped in tissue and sent in a rigid protective box. United Kingdom: £14, tracked and insured, arriving within three to five working days. All customs charges for United Kingdom deliveries are settled by the atelier; nothing further is payable on arrival. European Union: delivery included, three to five working days. Worldwide delivery on request. Returns are accepted within fourteen days of receipt in original condition; as every textile is singular and unrepeatable, we ask that pieces are handled with care.
