Item Details

A mahogany George III period ‘Cumberland’ gate leg dining table. So named as the first design of this type was made in the 1770’s purportedly by John Linnel for the Duke of Cumberland.
Essentially a superior design to typical gate legs, with greater leg room. This example has elegant lines and crisply turned supports. The top with a double line of stringing to the edge.
