Item Details

Mid 20th Century Japanese folding screen, depicting an elegant bamboo grove set against a luminous gold-leaf background.

Rendered with remarkable simplicity and refinement, the composition embodies the Japanese aesthetic of quiet beauty and contemplation. In Japanese culture, bamboo is revered as a symbol of resilience, prosperity, purity, and good fortune, its supple strength reflecting the ability to withstand adversity while remaining graceful. The screen can be hung flat on a wall as well as placed accordion style on a table.
