Brass dog table lamp Art Deco Spaniels by `ELPEC Brass Lloyd Pascal Co`, 1930`s ca, English.
This antique lamp has been gently cleaned while respecting the antique patina. It is newly rewired & earthed, PAT tested by an electrician and ready to use. It has a a new brass lamp holder, gold tone silk cable, new black cord switch & a new black plug (UK Plug up to 250V). This lamp could be used with a dimmer. It is possible to use this light in other countries with a light bulb & plug suitable to local electricity.
At the reverse of the brass casting of the dogs is stamped `REG 817866 ELPEC`, the marker`s registration mark.
This table lamp is a unique combination of brass components, a playful metal work piece. The result is a sweet & masculine treat for a dog lover.
The Art Deco geometric forms offer a complementary background to the brass dogs sculpture.
Looking from the bottom, there is a circular stepped plinth in polished brass. The first step is concave while the second is convex. The result is a `gentle` finish to the comparatively hard brass. In the front there is a quality brass casting with two dogs under which it is stamped `SPANIELS`. Behind the casting of the dogs runs a central column consisting of four brass rods and the electrical cable running in between. These brass rods are joined together at the top and fitted with the lamp holder & cover, both of brass.
Two brass removable rings secure the shade by two white metal ring adaptors to the lamp holder. This lamp is finished with a vintage screw on lampshade of black chenille with ivory, which is of later date.
Underneath the lamp base is padded with new black felt to protect the furniture below.
This lamp carries 1 standard small screw light bulb (E14) up to 40 Watts. At present it is fitted & photographed with Candle Clear shaped light bulbs of 25 Watts. This is included in the price.
This antique lamp is in very good condition. The frame is sound, the brass surfaces with some antique patina in line with age. T he lampshade is in good condition. The black chenille is intact with no cuts or rips, there are some marks of wear like minor loses & cuts on the inside lining as photographed.
Packing is offered free of charge. We take special professional care while packing. For safe transport the base would be wrapped separately from the shade, both in bubble wrap, foam and an outer layer of card. Together these parts would easily fit into a box with loose fill packing nuts, safe for posting with a courier. We ship with reliable couriers (signed for, tracked & insured).

The lampshade alone has the following dimensions: Height: 25 cm, Diameter at the top: 25cm, Diameter at the bottom: 30 cm.
ELPEC BRASS LLOYD PASCAL CO HISTORY
Lloyd Pascal & Co, the original company name for ELPEC Brass, was established in Birmingham in 1919. Initial production was fitting for windows, carriages and cabinets as brassfounders, and then specialised in reproduction copper and brassware initially based on Belgian designs. The later trade name was formed from the initials of the two founders and was used mainly on items where the design had been protected by registration as in this case. The company also produced silver plate which was marked `Centurion Silverplate`. The `Elpec` name lapsed in 1972 however the company is still in operation today in Birmingham as `Lloyd Pascal` producing home accessories.
