SWINESIDE CERAMICS POTTERY HISTORY

The English Company was founded in 1978 by designers Martin and Judy Bibby. Established initially in a converted farm in Swineside, in the Yorkshire Dales, Swineside Ceramics rapidly developed a reputation for its original and imaginative creations. In the 1980`s a series of teapots became very popular, along with a collection of sculptures depicting well known artists & celebrities. The latter more rare and very collectable today.

By 1986 as the teapots were becoming extremely popular in the UK and abroad, Martin & Judy decided to change the Company name to Swineside Teapottery. Due to the increased demand they needed to expand the factory to bigger premises and moved from Swineside to a new purpose-built pottery at Leyburn Business Park, North Yorkshire, where the pottery still exist nowadays.

In 2004 Martin & Judy Bibby retired from the business. Swineside Teapottery continued to produce inspiring creations and is trading today as Ceramic Inspirations.
