A lovely antique Chanteh woven by the nomadic Afshar tribe circa 1850 with an embroidered kilim front and back. The design features 3 rows of 3 embroidered figures (probably goats) on the front and an allover lattice on the back. These small vanity bags were woven by the women of the tribe and would have been used to keep valuable items such as jewellery or money. These antique Chantehs have become very hard to find and are highly collectible.
