Item Description
An antique Kazak rug, handwoven in the Caucasus mountains of central Asia, circa 1900.
The design features 3 striking medallions on an indigo field and unusual gold border. Note the interesting animal figures throughout the field. Highly collectible.
Size is 2.43m x 1.62m (8ft x 5ft 4").
This rug is in good condition with light, age related wear. I have had several areas professionally restored in Turkey. The outer border has been rebuilt and 2 small areas rewoven (see photos). The original pre-restoration photos are available on request. Fringes and selvedges are secure and it has been professionally cleaned.
