A fabulous antique Qashqai rug, handwoven by the eponymous nomadic tribe circa 1900 with a 3 medallion geometrical design on a dark indigo field and great secondary colours. A charming tribal piece with numerous birds throughout the field (see photos).
Size: 1.90m x 1.57m (6ft 3in x 5ft 2in)
This rug has moderate even wear, slightly heavier in places (see photos). A few small crude repairs to main field and border (see photos). Fringes and selvedges are secure and it has been professionally cleaned.
