An early 20th-century framed herbarium composed of four pressed botanical sheets, each presenting a carefully mounted plant specimen on paper, accompanied by a handwritten scientific label. The ensemble is presented in its original weathered wooden frame, decorated with a gilt frieze featuring a chain motif.


Each sheet documents a distinct botanical species collected between 1905 and 1906, with handwritten annotations detailing the plant family, scientific and common names, habitat, locality and date of collection, reflecting the rigorous practices of botanical study. The specimens are arranged within a single glazed frame, forming a harmonious decorative composition while retaining their original scholarly character.


The contrast between the delicacy of the pressed plants—stems, leaves and inflorescences—the graphic clarity of the labels, and the textured frame gives the work a distinctive visual presence.
