An elegant late 19th-century French round mirror. The shaped wooden frame is defined by a bold gilt line and adorned with a richly detailed frieze of polychrome flowers and foliage on a black ground, subtly accented with mother-of-pearl highlights—typical of the refined decorative style of the Napoleon III period. Originally a frame, it features a discreetly raised brass-framed glass over the mirror plate. A piece of strong decorative presence, with an elegant palette and delicate painted detail.
