This early 20th-century oil painting on board depicts a striking modernist still life of a breakfast scene, with a large jug surrounded by a pastry, coffee cup, fruits, and a glass of water. Made of brown, red and black, its earthly palette contrast with light grey lines that highlight curved shapes, producing an alluring play of geometric forms.
