A pair of mid-18th-century French faience plates from Moustiers, decorated with the characteristic 'flag' pattern featuring a central flag motif surrounded by military trophies, spears and drums.


The fluted lip displays a frieze of shell ornaments and foliage in dynamic curves and counter-curves typical of Rococo ornamentation, the lines elegant and animated. The edge is delicately shaped, enhancing the plates' refined profile.


The decoration employs a harmonious palette of blue, orange, green and manganese. A handsome pair displaying the dynamic Rococo decoration and elegant form typical of mid-18th-century Moustiers.
