https://www.decorativecollective.com/dealers/rustiqueA rare 17th-century Spanish pottery plate from Manises, Valencia, featuring a central motif of concentric rings surrounded by five bold scrolls. The edge is bordered by curved lines encircling the scrollwork and completed with a broad outer band. The underside is also decorated, with three scrolling lines applied in copper lustre.
The design is executed in broad, fluid brushstrokes that lend a lively sense of movement to the decoration. Shallow in shape, the plate exemplifies the Hispano-Moresque tradition—an enduring fusion of Islamic and Gothic design, produced by Moorish potters in Valencia and prized across European courts. A fine decorative example with strong graphic presence — ideal for display on a wall or shelf.
